UPDATE
About 2 months after we recorded this chat, Yemi got in touch to say that he’d taken his Grade 8 exam again. He felt he could do better now that he’d spent several more months continuing to train his mind. Here’s what he said:
“I got my result this morning and I achieved a good merit and this was 19 marks more than I got in March.
What was really pleasing was that this was the first time that I’ve left an exam feeling good. My handling of nerves on the day and leading up to the exam was vastly improved. I was full of belief. I had been working on focus and performance preparation over the last 3 months and this really helped. Whilst there were still wobbles during my performances, at no point was there any doubt, just focus on recovering.
